40, maybe 50 hours? I'm pretty poor at keeping track of time.

This is one of the most extensive examples of the use of crosshatching I've ever seen. As with almost every seriously talented artist here, the comments you receive only seem to prove that most viewers simply do not have the frame of reference to truly appreciate the scope of a work such as this.

Bob Giadrosich, another artist here, is an old, dear friend of mine. It is through him that I came across your work. If you do not know him, you should look him up and spend some time in his gallery. In him you will find a kindred spirit.

I also see tremendous use of single directional lines, and also stipple, or as the French called it originally; "pointilism" (properly pronounced: puan-TEE-ism)... It is a fairly simple matter to find examples of the coarse use of stipple, but rarely do you find someone who employs the use of such fine dots. I have always thought that artists who delve deeply into the technique of pointilism must be slightly crazy...:)

This is a fabulous work, and worthy of inclusion in Bob's new collection aimed at highlighting exceptional black ink artwork.

Cheers.

This IS a truly wonderful piece... I've fairly recently, in the past year or two, resumed persuing my artistic aspirations from when I was younger and I'm lapping up every little piece of technical wisdom and direction for alternative or better informed perception that I stumble across - and I love to see work like this being explored and publicly appreciated in such an insight-sharing manner as demonstrated by Darkmir.

Thanks to you both for sharing wonderful artwork and directing others to more inspirational works... You guys are, for me, what Deviant Art is all about! (Although it's entirely possible that I have no idea what Deviant Art is actually about... I've not been here too long!)

Also, zoomed in on this... Amazing! I have been drawn towards ink in the past and this kind of masterful technique is certainly inspiring me to delve in deeper! Thank you so much for sharing your art with the world, Mr Baconworm!
